My independent novel My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George. It is a very good book.The main character is sam gribly. he runs away to the Catskill mountains in new york. he has to survive whith a penknife, a ball of cord, forty dollars and some flint and steel he has to survive by himself. It is a survival story. If you liked The Sign of the beaver you would like this book because they are similar. RORY
